Have Trike will travel!
I bought my electro-trike in January from AS Bikes in Coventry. (http://asbikes.co.uk)
I have to say it’s opened up a whole new world for me! Following a nasty triple break of my leg and hip replacement surgery, I was no longer confident riding a two wheeled bike. We spotted AS Bikes at one of the Camping and Caravan shows at the NEC and, to be honest, I wasn’t sure it was the right thing for me. (I was still nervous post-accident.)
However, during a holiday in France, we realised how well they are geared up for cyclists over there and how much it would have enhanced our holiday if we’d had bikes. We went to see AS Bikes and they very patiently let me spend as much time as I needed to try out the trike and make sure it would work for me. I’m so glad we decided to buy it. Our next holiday in France was great. We had a bike rack and with 2 bikes loaded on the back of our motorhome we set off to explore.
We got to places I wouldn’t have been able to see without having a bike. We explored little villages and rode along coastal bike paths. I lost count of the number of times I was stopped by people wanting to know more about the trike. “C’est fabrique en France?” was a common question. “Mais non, c’est fabrique en Angleterre!” I could have sold my trike several times over.
Back in the UK we’ve cycled along the top of the white cliffs of Dover, in Canterbury, Dalby forest and around the lovely town of Pickering where we have our holiday lodges. Again, we’ve been asked so many times about the trike and where it can be bought. I’d frequently come out of a shop and find Tim demonstrating how the rear wheels fold in and how it folds in half. It’s certainly a great conversation starter.
It really is have trike – will travel!
